First thing kids around here learn is to stay away from rock piles and never to kicking your foot under logs and such. That one looks like it had been wandering around for a few years,tho. Unfortunately, when one moves out, another sees the open territory and tries to nest. Just keep your eye out.
I actually do live in the southeast, Jez. This is just a dusty rocky area because we are building. A construction site, essentially. We are actually in a temperate rainforest. Fancy!
