A war started on the eve of my 30th birthday, but I wouldn't recommend that. I think a big party is the perfect way to usher in a new decade. I'll be celebrating you from afar.
I just hit "next blog" after updating my own with thoughts of jumping out of an airplane to celebrate my big 'O' birthday this year (add ten to yours) ... and landed on your blog.
I loved turning 30. The only thing that sucked was that I wanted to throw a party and no one was coming, so I had to cancel it ! BOOO ! But I still enjoyed it. My brother and his friends bought me a cake and BBQ's steaks so it was somewhat salvaged. 30 is only a number. It's not how old you are, but how well you live your life. cheers !
I'm looking at 31 in two short months, and I have to say that the first 10 months of 30 have absolutely rocked. Despite the economic woes around me, this past year has been one of the best of my life. It's been a rollercoaster ride, but a fun rollercoaster. I finally feel like I'm coming into my own. I wish you the same type of 30. Happy Birthday!
Amanda Panda: Holy shit. Same thing happened to me. I had to cancel my party because of a business trip. BUT! All is not lost: I'm making the most of it. A weekend in NYC with my two best friends in the freakin' world. Yeah, I'd say that's a good way to ring in the new decade. :)
You're beating me to it. I hit 3-Oh in just over 2 months.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping the world ends before it happens.
You hope the world ends? Really?
ReplyDeleteSee, this is what I don't get. 30 isn't that terrifying to me. In fact, I would say I've been looking forward to it for most of my 20s.
Wanna come par-tay? :)

ReplyDeleteI remember that eve. Sad sad day.
ReplyDeleteI think you are right. And hell yes you'll be celebrating--it's your birthday too! :)

ReplyDeleteCheers to both of us as we enter new decades.
30?
ReplyDeleteAwesome.
The next ten years of your life will be the best you've ever had.
Trust me on this one.
Justacogitating: Salud!
ReplyDeleteSpender: Oh, I'm just getting warmed up for my 40s. :)
30 is the new 20 - :D
ReplyDeleteBabyLoveBug:
ReplyDeleteTOtally. If not the new 16.

ReplyDeletePea: That, my friend, is excellent news.
